A La Kermode
$14.00 – $40.00
The Kermode bear is actually a white variety of black bear found in several isolated pockets in British Columbia. First documented scientifically in 1905 by William Hornaday, and regarded as a distinct species. They were named after Francis Kermode, a Canadian colleague who had discovered and secured the specimens. Hunting them is strictly prohibited. Kermode bears are so elusive and seldom seen that the native people refer to these white phantoms of the rain forest as ghost bears.
